Dublin Racing Festival

We are back! January (a quiet month in life and on the blog) ends a solid +10.7pts in profit - thanks to Sascha’s run to the Final. Going to be tough for him ever getting over the line as Jannik is well on his way to becoming a generational player (already is in Italy) - with 3 Grand Slams and surely more to come. Ok, we’re off to the DRF this weekend to kick off the February P/L.. with a couple of Welsh shrewdies - looking to take as much bookmaker cash as suitably possible. Going to put up 2 singles and 2 multiples… The singles are both on Sunday’s racing - should mention that we are still waiting on final declarations Friday AM. Am hoping both these line up, I have backed both antepost and both have shortened slightly, at time of writing. Dublin Chase - Quilixios - 14/1 - 1ptew 3 places advised Irish Whiskey Leopardstown Hcp Chase - Sequestered - 8/1 - 1ptew 4 places advised  The two multiple bets, come in the form of (no surprises) Willie Mullin’s horses.. Final Demand/Majborou...

Saturday 11th Jan - Australian Open Eve

Evening all, I know what you’re thinking, I was not expecting the 2nd blog so soon. Nick Dunlap’s made the weekend and is 5 back of the lead, this is going out just before the start of his 3rd round.. so 64 shots would be nice please Nicky D! Tr uth of the matter is, wanted to get these two bets up before the start of this tournament. Likely the odds won’t change much between now and next weekend, but you never know… So, Australian Open Tennis.. had a good look through the odds and no surprise Jannik Sinner a very short price to win his 3rd Grand Slam in 12 month’s and defend his title. I hope to have found a little bit of value in the other half of the draw however, I just think Sasha Zverev is a bit overpriced based on his finish to 2024 + his good run at the Aus Open last year - only falling in the Semi’s to Medvedev in a quite frankly wild encounter, where Zverev was 2 sets to the good. Won’t have to face Medvedev this time, until the final, with being in opposite sides of the draw...

Birth of the blog!

First ever blog write up! As mentioned in bio, since I’ve been able to I would have classed myself as a casual sports bettor. But, after a particularly successful 2024, that notably included Bryson Dechambeau to win the US Open at 20/1 alongside a 55/1 reverse forecast on jumps racing…. I thought I’d put pen to paper and put some tips out there for 2025 for whomever to follow.. gamble responsibly and at your own risk  I will generally just be posting golf + horse jump racing tips on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and we’ll see how we go. Generally my tips will be of the value/longshot nature and I will track P/L month on month. Without further ado, the first two bets come from the PGA Tour at the Sony Hawaii Open, starting Thursday 9 January. Both each way bets on golfers who I think will have a big 2025 and are overpriced this week, especially the latter; Cam Davis - 40/1 - 1pt ew 10pl Nick Dunlap - 90/1 1pt ew 10pl  Good luck!
